To put people in danger because of their blatant lying “reporting”...I cannot begin to fathom how they can do this with impunity. I know, with certitude, that my liberal friends will believe every word of it. Even if there was a correction issued no one would read/hear it. How do you fight this? Any media that would report this correctly would be considered right wing and no one but conservatives would hear it. I know this to be factual as my liberal friends discount as lies and propaganda any reporting done by what they consider conservative news agencies.

Listen to Peter Boghossian's hilarious "when I stopped listening to public radio" shows- " All Things RE-considered." NPR used to be on my radio daily, but it has now been years since I listened for more than 2 minutes. No longer support local NPR affiliate.

I can't decide if these folks don't realize they're playing with fire, or if they're doing it on purpose. While emphasizing that I advise all due sanity and caution, it is simply the case that one side of this debate is well armed and the other generally speaking, is not. So, *especially* this week, engagement in asshattery about eliminationist rhetoric from the trans community, seems like an *epically* terrible idea.

I suspect at least one person at the radio station is deliberately twisting things.

I suspect the rest haven't listened to the raw source and have no idea of the context, but that one person is knowingly twisting what Mr Montalban said by cropping out the "eliminate transphobic people" part

Lying by omission is just as bad. A deceased friend of mine was US army SF in VN and tells an interesting 1st hand story about one of the most venerated journalists in all of TV history, and this was about 50 or 55 years ago.

American media has been crafting narratives for a very, very long time.

I sent a link via email to the WMAc's legal team of the video and asked them why they lie to their listeners. I'll share if they respond.... not holding my breath.

I no longer privately support the local public radio station in Canton, New York, it is so blatantly pro-Democrat.

The "emperor has no clothes" moments have become so common that we should update the image for the times. How about "the empress has no clothes," and not only does she/he have no clothes, her penis is hanging out too!

This is the sort of thing that Tucker Carlson would probably like to have on his show I think.

Yeesh, even if it's a sincere error, which I doubt, that's egregiously bad.

NPR are liars, as are all government funded media, as well as corporate funded media. They are all on the same team, working for the same predator class, trying to sow discord and violence among us. The enemy is not one community or another; it is the banksters. We need to renounce violence, ignore the corrupt media, and work toward reconciliation with everyone. We need to love each other and take care of each other. Otherwise, this is going to get very ugly.

I'm coming to accept more and more that the bankers might actually *be* at fault, which is not a position my trending-supercapitalist self is inclined to accept. But it's looking more and more plausible. Uncomfortable.

Nothing wrong with capitalism - if you're honest. But the monetary/banking system is fundamentally fraudulent. See my explanation:

Oh, I'm aware. I think what it is, is that I'm becoming more and more aware of just how dishonest it truly is, these days.

Like, I used to think it was just "the Fed prints more money, which makes the value of the money you already have go down". And now I realize it's more like, "the Fed prints money and lends it to its close banking friends at negative interest rates, and then those banks will outbid you for the house you wanted". Plus about another thousand nefarious things.

I mentioned the "being capitalist" bit as a way of admitting my own instincts to shy away from statements like "execute the bankers" because that "sounds like commie talk".

I wonder how much of left ideology has been fueled, even constructed by trusted news sources lying and obfuscating the truth. It’s evil, the people who think they’re doing good are doing evil.
