That's a cool Lego set. I'm surprised they didn't have the count in it but they did have Elmo. I don't remember watching Sesame Street when Elmo was on. But I definitely remember the Count.
I loved the time Bert and Ernie went fishing. In my mind’s eye I hear Ernie “Here fishie, fishie, fishie” as the fish leap into the boat while Bert can’t catch a thing.
My husband and I got married in an airplane hanger just before Halloween with everyone (including us and the officiant) in costume. It is our favorite holiday.
In 1953, Enrico Fermi criticized Dyson’s model by quoting Johnny von Neumann: “With four parameters I can fit an elephant, and with five I can make him wiggle his trunk.” So far, there have been several attempts to fit an elephant using four parameters, but as the problem has not been well-defined, the current methods do not completely satisfy the requirements. This paper defines the problem and presents an attempt.
I never watch Sesame Street as a kid but I would have been 7 when it first started airing so I was on to other things by then. I do, however, have incredibly fond feelings for the show because I used to sit and rock my kids while we watched it together. While I enjoyed mimicking many of the characters to make my kiddos laugh while we watched, my most favorite thing was the Madigral Alphabet. I bought a several Sesame Street tapes, one specifically for that, and I would rock my daughter to sleep to that song. She was mesmerized as I pointed out letters and then slowly but surely she would drift off. Never failed. Prior to implementing song routine, she would stay awake well past the time Littles should be asleep. When my son came along, he, too, drifted off to it. Even now just thinking about causes feelings of so much love and peace and contentment to wash over me.
My mom, when older, decided she was tired of dragging out her Christmas tree, decorating it, then deconstructing year after year. So, she had a Valentine's tree and an Easter tree, and Fourth of July tree, and a... well, you get the idea. The first trip home with the kids when the inaugural Valentine's tree had been implemented, we older "children" thought mom was losing her mind early. Grandkids loved it. We soon all embraced the new, non-traditional holiday tree, whatever it might be, and realized that mom was pretty darn awesome. She gave us and our kids another special memory of her.
Sesame Street went on the air the year before the birth of our first of 3 sons. As a toddler who got into anything and everything, he would be mesmerized by it. Without any help from us, he was reading at 4th or 5th grade level by the time he started first grade. The Halloween tree is beyond awesome. I was especially tickled to see Linus there awaiting the Great Pumpkin.
My children grew up with Sesame Street in the 70s and 80s. Your pictures and videos brought back wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing the Lego project!
Your Halloween tree makes me wonder if you’re a fan of horror films and if so have you seen the 1979 film Phantasm. It’s low budget and silly in many ways but something about it really gives one a kind of dream/deja vu like sense of evil that feels authentic. Not sure if it would read the same to younger generations used to better special effects and um, isn’t Sesame Street but if you like horror… me rambling all because of a Halloween tree

Ur mom is my kind of thinker.
Why have a tree for 1 holiday when u can have a tree for every holiday and it's easier too.
Sesame Street was the best
I'm a grouch myself
