Not often that I literally feel "triggered," but your mention of a tenth story balcony did it for me. In college, a friend jumped from the tenth story of the only building on campus that had one. I think she is the only suicide I have known personally - or at least the only one not currently blocked from my memory.
I cannot help but remember how her freshman year roommate had known that she felt that she was letting down her parents by being on the verge of flunking out for the second time, and how much more worse they must have felt over what she actually did.
I missed nipple guy.
