Very sorry to hear this, but very glad you sought treatment in time and have help. I will heed your warning even thought I live elsewhere (I hate parasites, of all flavors). Enjoy the darkness?
More seriously Doxycycline is a great antibiotic - I was on a low dose regime for a year as a prophylactic against malaria and it stomped every bacteria in the place.
I’m glad you nipped this bug in the bud! Thanks for the public service announcement. I’m grateful to live in a place with very few ticks, but if that changes one day, I’ll try to keep your warning in mind.
On the temperature note, I saw a Substack article saying people in general have a lower body temperature than "normal" (98.6 is no longer than normal temperature according to him). I found it interesting because I am constantly lower than that as well. Not as low as you, but at this point 98.6 is warmer than normal for me these days...But as a child I remember hitting that number normally.
I mentioned it to the clinic assistant once but she had never paid attention to it.
Be sure you eat something with the Doxy! One of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life was running around a Chinese village trying to find something to get into my stomach after taking a dose without food.
It’s so good that you found the tick. They can be so bad! A neighbor got Rocky Mountain spotted fever several years ago and went through a long ordeal. He also found the tick, which led to the diagnosis. Praying you will have a full recovery and soon.
I relate well to your "sun exposure" cycle. I never described mine as Casper to tomato. Mine was blister--peel--freckle. Finally after decades of the PBF cycle, my freckles are running together. My shoulders appear to have a nice tan--even in the dead of winter!! Blue eyes, fair skin and blonde as a child (though I'm gradually moving toward return to the really light hair) and in the 7th decade of PBF syndrome. I am not as fair as in the first 50 years of my life but I don't rush out in the hottest part of the sun to catch the rays any more.. One thing about having blonde children is that it makes it much easier to check for ticks. Most of my life my hair might have been described as tick colored!
Glad you're feeling better and so glad you found the tick
So you made your bug a feature! Have a swift and full recovery.
Missed the "your bug is a feature" comment by one!
Rest and be well. I'm glad you caught this in time.

I’m so glad you got medical attention and I hope you feel better soon! 🔜

I'm glad you caught it in time. I'm also glad to live somewhere (UK) where we don't have such awful parasites. Except for the politicians.
So glad you found it.

...and needing to take probiotics, lest you get the shits.
Oh man Holly! What a story!
Lyme, alpha-gal and the one you’ve got… are all on the rise. Ticks are no joke. Hang in there and get better quick! Prayers your way. 🙏
I'm glad when I called you turned out not to be dead.
I love you too. 😛😛😛
Ouch!!
I'm glad you sought care right away! May you recover completely and soon.

So happy you are doing better. I'm trying to picture you as a golden goddess, calculating - with extreme mathmatical precison - your value in gold!
If you catch the tick, have it analysed, only way to be sure what it carries as diseases, blood analysis not very reliable...
That tick is going to ask for compensation for paid subs you get from talking about it. What a parasite!
I'm glad you caught it in time and treating it. We (ok, I) want you around for a looooong time.
