Recently, I published an essay about what digital tools survived my post-Twitter re-assessment. A reader asked for an essay on the non-digital tools that I love most, which was an intriguing and fun idea.
As it was just a year and a half ago that I got a middle-class job, I haven’t had the opportunity to buy things that add more than simple survival to my life for very long. I have profoundly enjoyed the process of furnishing a home for myself. Here is a top ten list, with pictures. Some are gifts I’ve received and some are things I found on my own.
