I don't keep any record of the free ones -- just add them and file the email, so I had actually forgotten that! Thank you so much for spreading the word; that's very helpful!
🍂 Neat! 🍂 I'm going to have to crunch some numbers. I have an extremely thin budget for supporting other creators, since everybody I follow is asking for 5-7 dollars a month these days and since I'm no heiress I simply can't make that happen. Hopefully I'll be able to swing it!
Holly, Your creative efforts are much appreciated. Your personal story is moving, and I had never heard this persepective before. Your determination, grit, and spirit got you out of that situation and you are making a new productive (and I hope happy) life for yourself. I'm happy to support you with another year of paid subscription.
I have always wondered what influenced people that lived through a traumatic childhood situation to be able to get out of it and lead productive, fulfilling lives. Like JD Vance, Oprah Winfrey (traumatic childhood but became VERY successful) and Holly the Math Nerd. So many people cannot break free, understandably so. I'm glad you did, the world is better for it.
I can't believe it's only been a year! A wild bloody year, wasn't it? I've loved the substack every step of the way, and I'm looking forward to another year if it. Feels like just yesterday I was lurking in yours and gators replies in the heyday of my Twitter usage. I remember your article about leaving Twitter and the stipulations around the possibility of returning. Would you consider returning if Elon Musk makes the changes he claims he is setting out to make and truly makes it a beacon of free speech where you wouldn't need to lie everyday?
No. I've given it some thought and I still feel like I do more productive things in the world off Twitter. Thanks for asking and thank you so much for your support!
Fair enough. I'm undecided myself– assuming my account would be restored. Like you said in an article, things aren't so fraught, and I have been more productive. But all that aside, it was a great tool for viewing and studying art/art history.
I’m happy to remain a paid subscriber, but you can take me off the “contest” list as I live in western Massachusetts and the fall colors here were equally amazing!

Email me! I don't want anyone struggling to afford a subscription. Very happy to put you on the list!

Congratulations on your one year anniversary on Substack. I always enjoy reading your articles.
Thank you! :)
Congrats on your Substack anniversary! Proud to say that I've been a paying member for quite a while, and I plan to stay one for a long time!
Thank you!!
