What a great book, and great review and thoughts on it. I need to re-read it soon.
Maybe I’ll buy some extra copies and start leaving it at random places at local university campuses. Wokeism has been so institutionalized, even in TX.
Holly, may we share this article? I am in such despair for some of my friends who, if they see that the forward is by Jordan Peterson, will immediately discount the entire book. Perhaps they would at least read your piece though.
Good review, and Holly's commentary, especially at the end, should be taken to heart. I've read more than one account from elderly Jews with numeric tats on their forearms admonishing to never, ever give up your guns. Training opportunities abound, even if you don't already own one, even if you are scared of them. The only way to overcome your fear is to confront it head-on.
I voted in favor of the book reviews and I’m very glad I did! Thank you!
While I agree with everything I have heard and read as I have followed Ms. Park, I have to say I am optimistic about the future. I believe in our ability to overcome this. The dearth of leadership we have been suffering under will come to an end. Hopefully soon, and in the meantime those with eyes to see have to continue to lead in their own lives and prepare their families and communities to deal with what comes.
I completely agree with your assessment of the school situation and am acting accordingly. The thought of subjecting an innocent child to that philosophy, and knowing that it is happening every day is the aspect of our current reality that presents the strongest challenge to my optimism. That is why I loved the point about the authors parents being heroes. Parenting has always been of crucial importance, but never more so than now. The Left knows that good parents and strong families are in their way, and they are coming for us. Stand strong! And avail yourselves of support in places like the HMN Substack!
He may be the worst of the lot, but we haven't had good leadership in the executive for more than 30 years. Trump was the least bad since Bush's election in 1988. In my view, you'd probably have to go back to the Coolidge and Harding administrations to find great leadership. That was 100 years ago.
Agreed, but unfortunately it isn’t him alone. We have not had a functional executive branch for years, which is a big problem because the legislative branch has abandoned the vast majority of its constitutional functions to the executive. The question we all need to contemplate is what has taken advantage of that power vacuum? I think Ms. Park knows the answer to that and is heroically trying to help us see.
Thank you, Holly. I am sending your piece to everyone I know and posting it on Facebook as well. It is something we all need to hear, and hopefully more people will order her book after reading this.
Wow. What a book. Her description of leftism versus liberalism is phenomenal!
Another North Korea book is “Dear Reader” by Michael Malice.
Thank you for this review, I saw this book when it came out and meant to read it, but it had slipped to the back of my mind.
Ordered! 🫡

Sure!
Thank you, and thank you for your advocacy in this upside down world.

When you say “the dearth of leadership we have been suffering under will come to an end,” I picture our current President as that dearth.

Exactly - they've ceded too much to the bureaucracy, over which the executive has control.
The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.

Your offer to teach math by Zoom is just extraordinary. Thank you.
