I’m still reading (and absolutely loving) The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution, by Bernard Bailyn. It’s incredibly rich and interesting, but not a fast read, so I’m going to continue with a close reading of the Constitution until I’m ready to write about that book and what I’ve learned from it. This one covers Article I, Sections 1-3.
Article I, Sections 4 through 7, about which I’ll try to write over the weekend, completely changed my view of the way our government operates today—shockingly enough, for the better.
